Is Applebee's a ghetto magnet???
Last night I went to Applebee's with some fam for some dessert and it had to be the worst time I have had in a long time. We entered the restaurant and you could tell right off the bat this was going to be an interesting trip. Granted, it was Saturday and around 8pm, but still is this really where people flock to? I realize this is not considered a "5 star" establishment but this place was poppin. We sat down at a booth that was obviously sticky from the last group and we were surrounded by 2 very large families, each who had kids they just let wander around and do what they want. Directly behind our booth was a table of all kids and I am talking the most poor mannered children you have ever seen. I love kids so this is brutal for me to witness. I really cannot give the full blame to the children, the parents are mostly to blame for their poor parenting skills. Anyway, when this family finally left there was a garbage heap under and on the kids table that the employees had to move the table to clean up, disgusting. Add insult to injury, the lady handed the waiter the bill and shorted him $2, LOL, I mean are you serious? My experience grew better when this family left, but this was amazing. We ordered coffee and dessert, for some reason it took almost 30 minutes for the dessert to arrive to the table, I am guessing they had to bake the cake and brownie...LAME. I was not in the mood to complain because it would have came out rather beastly. I can almost say I will not go to this place again, not just because of the service, but the type of people it attracts. I am far from high class but this was crazy. I could get into race and culture issues, but why? There are ghettoistic people in every breed. Why Applebees, why? For a place I used to work at, and has decent food this was a nightmare.

Tired of being tired
I am always tired and man is it annoying. This is not a complaint, just a fact of life that I have learned to deal with. My schedule is so full that you would swear I am famous, but that is not the case. I have learned that in life you really have to learn how to manage your time, this is not an easy task. Going to bed at 1 am and waking up at 6 am every morning sure takes it's toll on the human psyche as well as physically, but is it avoidable? My late hours are not for my benefit, they are filled with stuff that needs to be done. Being a student, an employee, a father, and a husband does not leave room for much else. My job is very rewarding in so many ways but on the flip side it is draining, emotionally and physically. I really get that I am preaching to the chorus here, but I am just ranting. Each person's experience is different with life so does that really make sense? I suppose I could go to bed earlier, I mean, the world will keep spinning even if I stop pushing it right? This is so easy to say but rarely practiced! Saturday's become my catch up days where I get most my sleep back, but I don't think that is all to healthy either. Thank you for coffee although it seems to have no effect any longer. I will agree this is a rant and an issue with time management, therefore there is an answer to this issue. SLEEP
Hockey is an interesting sport
Interesting that my first blog is about a game that I am not to familiar with. Tonight my wife and I went to the "Shark Tank" to see the San Jose Sharks face off against the St. Louis Blues. Talk about sensory overload. I am a baseball man myself, GO GIANTS, but all sports have an interest to me. As I watched the game, the rules were not to clear, a whistle would blow, a player would be sent to the box, rinse and repeat. The game was very exciting with all the physical punishment that was taking place, but really, this seemed like soccer on ice to me. What made the game so much more was the fans in the sold out stadium, a total of 17,564 at this game all shouting in unison phrases like; you suck, Lets go Sharks, and some profane words as well. The unity was something that was awesome, but then the instant backlash of people on their own team was lame (you can see similar treatment to the Oakland Raider's). For my first game this was great, not only did the Sharks win, but the game went into OT with a shoot out at the end. I cannot say I am a die hard hockey fan as of yet, but this is definitely a sport worth paying attention to.
